The College Debates and Seminars Committee of Imtiyaz Memorial Government Degree College (IM-GDC) Shopian today organised a Naat Recitation competition for students in the College Auditorium.The competition was attended by the teaching, non teaching staff and hundreds of students of the college.
Prof. Tariq Hussain, Vice Principal of the college was the Chief Guest on the occasion. Some of the senior faculty members were Guests of Honour.The programme started with the recitation of Quranic verses by Prof. Ishaq from Dept. of English.
The programme saw some of the most melodious and spiritually uplifting Naat recitations by the students in Kashmiri and in Urdu.Prof. Mehmood Tak and Dr. Umar Farooq enthralled the audience with some soulful na’at performances.
Shaheena from 2nd Semester secured first position, Aaqila from 4th semester secured second and Bushra Gul from 4th semester secured third position. Books and certificates were distributed among all the participating students.
