Additional Deputy Commissioner Anantnag, Dr SM Ashraf chaired a meeting of Electoral Registration Officers of the district regarding the ongoing special summary revisions.

Deputy District Election Officer, Nazia Hassan highlighted that any person who is  attaining age of 18 years on April 01, 2023 is eligible for registration  and must be covered in the SSR.

She said that draft electoral rolls will be published on 5th April and the election officials have an important role to play in registration of new voters and rectification of data of existing voters. 

She said necessary forms  for addition, modification etc shall be available free of cost at designated centres. The ADC highlighted that the registration of voters through SSR is an important exercise to enable citizens to participate in the electoral process.

He called on all EROs, AEROs and BLOs to ensure awareness about the SSR and coverage of all eligible citizens. Among others, the meeting was attended by SDMs, ACR, ACD, CEO and ACP.
