As part of the efforts being made by the state government to create a sports culture in the state and to connect the youth with sports by keeping them away from drugs, Ferozepur district has started the "Khed Maidan Har Pind Di Pehchan" campaign across the state. This campaign conducted by the district administration was launched by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann through Sports Minister Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer.
On the occasion of Martyrdom Day of Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh, Shaheed Rajguru, Shaheed Sukhdev yesterday, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann launched a unique campaign of Ferozepur district "Khed Maidan Har Pind Di Pehchan" at Martyrdom Memorial Hussainiwala yesterday. The Chief Minister and the Sports Minister have appreciated this initiative.
Deputy Commissioner Rajesh Dhiman, giving information about this campaign, said that the Army and BSF are involved in the effort to produce sportsmen for the creation of Rangla Punjab and to keep youth away from drugs and connect them to sports.
Another objective of this initiative is to train the youth for Army and Punjab Police recruitment. There are a total of 836 Panchayats in Ferozepur district, out of which playgrounds have been constructed in 64 Panchayats and 514 Panchayats passed resolution to build the playgrounds.
Apart from this, none of the 258 panchayats have land, yet land is being sought in the villages.The boundary walls of these playgrounds will be built with local species of trees, which will also make the environment clean .
In-principle approval of 200 coaches has been taken from Army and BSF for training children and sports equipment will be provided from DMF, CSR and MP Land Fund. Each playground will have separate toilets, changing rooms and drinking water for boys and girls.
Funds for construction of these playgrounds will be arranged from Magneraga, Panchayat Fund, Aspirational District Program and District Mineral Fund.On this occasion, MLA Ferozepur Urban Ranbir Singh Bhullar, MLA Ferozepur Rural Rajnish Dahiya, Commissioner Ferozepur Division Daljit Singh Mangat, DIG Ranjit Singh Dhillon, DDPO Jaswant Singh Baraich and others were present.
