As we all know about the situations Punjab is going through amid the arrest of the leader of Waris Punjab De group, Amritpal Singh. All the series of events led to the shutdown of internet services since Saturday afternoon. People were facing difficulties and many issues due to the suspension of the internet services. But now it is good news for the people of Punjab as they are no longer going to face the suspension as the internet services are restored.
As per the new orders, internet services resumed from 12 noon today in the majority of areas. Some areas of Punjab will still face the suspension and will remain offline including Taran Tarn, Ferozpur, Moga, Sangrur, Amritsar, Ajnala and some sensitive areas of Mohali as well till 23 March 2023.
Speaking about these areas, Taran Tarn, Ferozpur, Moga, and Sangrur will face complete ban of internet and SMS services while Amritsar, Ajnala and some areas of Mohali will suffer with partial services ban till 23 March 2023 as per the recent orders.
This action was taken when Police launched a massive operation against Amritpal Singh for chasing him. The government does not want to disturb the peace of the public by protests and does not want rumours to spread, so the services were suspended.
