Amid the arrest of Amritpal Singh Khalsa, all the internet services have been shut down in the parts of Punjab till Sunday as per the Department of Home Affairs and Justice, Punjab Government.
It is stated that all the mobile internet services, SMS services (except banking and mobile recharge), all dongle services have been suspended except voice calls. The services will be suspended in the interest of public safety till 12 pm Sunday as of now.
This action was taken when Police launched a massive operation against Amritpal for chasing him. A video of Amritpal was also shared in which he was sitting in a vehicle and one of his aides was saying that Police are after him. His supporters started sharing the information due to which the decision was taken to shut the services.
Police have been successful in nabbing Amritpal Singh after following him for hours.
