The Implementation Support Agency (ISA) under Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) held a Prachar Rath Yatra in Doda town and its adjoining areas to raise community awareness on water conservation.
The Yatra was flagged off by Deputy Commissioner Vishesh Mahajan. ADC Doda, Dr RK Bharti, ACR Sanjeev Kumar, CPO Suresh Kumar, Ex En JSD Subash Gupta and other officers from the district headquarters were also present at the occasion.
A special vehicle designed by ISA-DPMU unit Doda will make the public aware of water conservation, grey water management, water testing and the importance of safe drinking water. Community awareness programs are also being conducted at various locations/blocks by ISAs with active participation from Panchayati Raj Institution members and other stakeholders.
DC Vishesh Mahajan informed media persons that JJM is a flagship program to create water supply infrastructure so that every household has a Functional Tap Connection (FHTC) by 2024.
IEC activities are being conducted across the district to sensitize people about water conservation and its judicious use to ensure future generations have access to it.
