Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh BJP Vice President and former minister Mr Surjeet Singh Slathia today paid glowing tribute to former Prime Minister Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee, describing him a statesman who will always be remembered for his contribution towards the nation.

Speaking at a function held to mark the 98th birth anniversary of the former Prime Minister, Mr Slathia said that Atalji’s captivating leadership, oratory and sterling humane qualities will always remain a source of inspiration for the younger generation.

Mr Slathia said that Atalji was a man of great wisdom and compassion, who developed the country in all respects.National General Secretary BJP Mr Dilip Saikia, Member Parliament and Pradesh BJP President Mr Ravinder Raina were also present on the occasion. 

They paid tributes to Mr Atal Bihari Vajpayee.Later, addressing a gathering after listening to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Man Ki Baat’, Mr Slathia said the BJP has steered the country to a new era of progress and development. 

The stature of the country has grown in the comity of nations, which is evident from India holding presidency of the G-20 conclave.This is a big achievement and acknowledgement of the Prime Minister as a global leader, he added.

Mr Slathia also referred to the path breaking initiatives taken in Jammu and Kashmir during the past over three years, saying these have rekindled hope about the Union Territory transforming as a developmental hub and becoming a proud part of the country’s growth story.

Also present on the occasion were the Mandal Presidents, Booth Presidents. District and Block Development Councillors.
