Deputy Commissioner Jammu Avny Lavasa today flagged off a Cloth distribution drive of District Red Cross Society and Disha Volunteers Organisation. DSWO Mamta Rajput, who is also Secretary District Red Cross Society, office Bearers of Disha Volunteers Organisation along with other staff members were also present on the occasion.
The DSWO apprised the DC that the clothes for donation have been provided by the people and these will be distributed among poor and needy people in rural areas. Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner appreciated the efforts of Disha Volunteers Organisation and said that it was a noble cause to help the poor and marginalized sections of the society.
The Deputy Commissioner urged the office bearers of Disha Volunteers Organisation to conduct more drives to help the needy people. She also appealed to the people for their contribution in the great cause.
