Director Rural Sanitation reviews implementation of SBM (G) in Poonch Rajouri districts

Director Rural Sanitation UT of J&K, Charandeep Singh chaired a meeting to review the implementation of different components of Swachh Bharat Mission Grameen- Phase 2 in Poonch and Rajouri districts.

The meeting was attended in person by the ADDC Rajouri,  Assistant Commissioners Development, Assistant Commissioner Panchayats, District Panchayat Officers, Block development officers along with the other officials of the department.

The Director took an extensive district-wise review of the ongoing projects pertaining to Swachh Bharat Mission Grameen-Phase 2. He also reviewed the district-wise expenditure along with ODF-Plus updation, ongoing Gobardhan projects, Solid waste management assets, Liquid waste assets, plastic waste management, status on segregation sheds, retrofitting of toilets, 2nd Level verification report, Utilization Certificate 2021-22, and special emphasis was given to Door-to-Door waste collection. 

He directed all ACPs to complete Door-to-Door waste collection works within a week’s time. The Director emphasized the importance of Swachh Sarvekshan Grameen-2023 (SSG-2023) and elaborated on the various activities under SSG 2023. 

He further directed all the officials for a wide participation in SSG 2023 activities and explained the village self-assessment and peer verification leading to the ranking of Gram panchayats and district level assessment leading to Assessment of States and UT   levels of assessments in SSG 2023. 

Timelines were given to complete the self-assessment by the Gram Panchayats on the portals. Director, further explained that rewards, awards, and recognition at the village, block, district, state, and national level shall be given depending on the performance on the SSG portal monitored by the Government of India.

Director also reviewed the working of SBM IMIS operators in both districts and a detailed review of the IMIS SBM portal was done and directions were issued for daily updation of the Infracture on the portal being created. 

BDOs were directed to send a weekly report on the asset construction vis-vis the portal updation. Directions were also issued to construct the pink toilets in the respective districts based on the availability of land and demand.

While speaking on the occasion Director, Rural sanitation stressed the need for awareness towards the cleanliness of our rural areas and increasing the number of ODF plus villages.
