District Youth Training & Empowerment (DYTE) centres, an initiative of District administration Samba in collaboration with Mission Youth J&K, were inaugurated in 7 blocks of Samba district by respective BDC Chairpersons, DDC members and other elected representatives besides local people.

Under this initiative, physical and academic training will be imparted to equip the district youth, who desire to get entry into the Jammu and Kashmir Police, Paramilitary and Indian defence forces, with necessary physical and mental skills required for the armed forces recruitment.

The program aims at channelizing their energies in the positive direction by encouraging activities like sports & recreation, drug de-addiction drives, career counseling, besides Yoga and Meditation Classes etc.

According to Chairman DYTE Samba, Anuradha Gupta ( Deputy Commissioner Samba), the program was conceptualized with a motive to impart training to the rural youth who don’t have resources and proper guidance to apply for the jobs in armed, paramilitary, police and related services and also to channelize their energies in right direction to keep them away from drug menace .

A total of 70 trainees are enrolled in each centre after medical examination by the medical teams sent by the Chief Medical Officer and physical verification by the officials from District Youth Sports and services department of the District and no fee is charged from the enrolled trainees.

The physical training is being conducted in play grounds and academic coaching in the buildings in each block by a team of Physical Instructor Male, Physical Instructor Female, Academic Instructor and Data entry operator recruited under DYTE program. The program is being coordinated in all blocks by District Employment & Counselling Centre, Samba.
