Under the ambitious programme My town My pride, Shehri Jan Abhiyan activities were held across all Municipalities today in Kathua today. On the second day of the ‘Shehri Jan Abhiyan’ under which awareness cum training programmes, plantation drives, special sanitation drives and other activities were carried out by various departments across all municipal areas of the district.
At MC Hiranagar, campaigns against anti-littering, inspection of ongoing works and modalities for formulating MTMP 2.0 plan were held under the supervision of President MC and other ward members. At MC Basohli, a mega camp was organized at Ram Leela ground, Basohli wherein stalls of health, social welfare, BBDA, tourism, JPDCL, J&K Bank, Ayush etc were installed where awareness was imparted among general public about the schemes and programmes of the departments.
At MC Kathua, an awareness programme on departmental schemes was held at Town Hall followed by plantation drive to promote green cover in municipal jurisdiction. At MC Billawar, President Billawar MC Uma Kanth Basotra presided over an awareness camp where Health, Social Welfare, Revenue and other departments installed their stalls to educate people about welfare schemes and programmes offered by the departments.
President MC Billawar also handed over keys to beneficiaries of PMAY (U) during a brief ceremony organised in Billawar. At MC Parole, the day witnessed activities ranging from anti littering awareness drive besides departmental awareness drive in different wards of the parole town.
