Punjab Launches Drive To Check Misuse Of Electric Equipments In Government Offices

The Punjab government today issued instructions to all the heads of departments to make sure that there was no misuse of electric equipments in the offices of the state including in Punjab Civil Secretariat-1 and 2.Disclosing this here today, a spokesperson of the General Administration Department said that it has been noticed that electricity equipments like Air Conditioners, Computers, Tube lights, Bulbs and Fans remains switched on in the offices of Ministers/Officers and another offices without their presence of staff in the offices. Now, according to the instructions all branch Superintendent/Officers in-charge would have to ensure that these are switch off immediately as the ministers/officers/staff had left the office. Besides that they would also have to ensure that no equipment should remains switch on after the office time.The spokesman further made it clear that lights could be used in office corridors during night for security reasons. He said that in the case of failure to implement these orders in true spirit and manner, the concerned officer/employee would have to face strict disciplinary action.
