Having the ability to defend oneself increases self-esteem and boosts confidence. To set aloud this idea a Mass Self Defence performance was organized in Govt. Girls Model Sr. Sec. School, 20 B for physical empowerment training. The event was marked by auspicious presence of Ms. Harjinder Kaur, Chairperson CCPCR. 

The chief guest of the event, Ms. Sarbjit Kaur, Mayor, Municipal Corporation Chandigarh, and guest of honour, Ms. Sita Devi, DSP, W&CSU, Sector 17, Chandigarh, marked the event by expressing their appreciation to the CCPCR and Women and Child Support Unit for organising self-defense training for girls.

Mass demonstration of self defense was done by girls students of various schools under guidance of Swayam team of Women and child support unit, Chandigarh police. The goal of self- defense to avoid or deescalate the situation quickly and safely. A play was presented by girls of Govt. Model School, Sec. 50, Chandigarh on child rights and the role of CCPCR in implementing them.

Ms. Kashvi Garg- Child right ambassador of CCPCR and Silver medalist in fencing in commonwealth game 2022 was awarded by the dignitaries. The Prize distribution ceremony was also conducted to appreciate the position holders of different schools under poster making, Visual art and Creative writing competitions which were held during Children’s week celebration from 12th Nov to 20th Nov 2022.

Principal Ms. Bina Rani presented the formal vote of thanks to all. Ms. Monica Munjal, member CCPCR; Ms. Pooja Punchhi, member CCPCR; Mr. Chanchal Singh, RTE Consultant; Mr. Arvind Dhawan , senior Assistant CCPCR; Ms. Ankita, POCSO Consultant; Mr. Shekhar, clerk  and Staff of school were also present.
