Director Rural Sanitation reviews implementation of Swachh Bharat Mission (G)

Director Rural Sanitation UT of J&K, Charandeep Singh today chaired a virtual meeting to review the progress achieved in the implementation of different components of Swachh Bharat Mission Grameen- Phase 2 across the districts of UT of Jammu and Kashmir.

The meeting was attended in person by the Deputy Director Jammu, Rural Sanitation, Accounts Officer, Directorate of Rural Sanitation, Section Officer Planning, Officials of Directorate of Rural Sanitation along with Directorate consultants. 

Assistant Commissioners Panchayat and District Panchayat Officers of all districts participated through video conferencing.The Director took an extensive district-wise review of the ongoing projects pertaining to Swachh Bharat Mission Grameen-Phase 2. 

He also reviewed the district-wise expenditure along with ODF-Plus updation, retrofitting of toilets, 2nd Level verification report, Utilization Certificate 2021-22, and special emphasis was laid on Door-to-Door waste collection.   

He directed all ACPs to complete Door-to-Door waste collection works by the end of November 2022. He emphasized the need for adopting a cluster-based methodology to facilitate Door-to-Door waste collection.

The chair asked all stakeholders to ensure utilization of all the available funds under the scheme in a time-bound manner.  He further asked them to gear up for Swachh Sarvekshan Grameen-2023 (SSG-2023) activities and World Toilet Day.
