The day 4 of ambitious ‘Back to Village’ phase IV programme today witnessed the Visiting Officers taking stock of public grievances and demands besides reviewing development scenario during their exclusive visit to different panchayats of Udhampur district.
The programme witnessed overwhelming participation of PRI representatives and general public who evinced keen interest in this unique initiative of the government appreciating it as a historic step towards ensuring good governance.
As part of the initiative, Commissioner Secretary, Labour and Employment Department, Sarita Chauhan, visited Rehmbal Lower panchayat. She interacted with officers of different departments regarding the deliverables achieved, so far.
Commissioner Secretary along with Deputy Commissioner, Krittika Jyotsna, inspected exhibition stalls established by various departments and agencies including JKB counter, PHC Rehmbal, ration sale depot, Aanganwadi centre and Primary School Rehmbal.
She also inaugurated Rural Haat and participated in plantation drive at panchayat ghar, Rehmbal.Commissioner Secretary issued directions to the concerned officers to saturate deliverables wherever deficiencies found.
A large number of people, including senior citizens, stakeholders, and youth participated in the interactions and put forth their demands and grievances.Commissioner Secretary apprised them of various centrally and state sponsored schemes that have been tailored for raising their living standards.
The public appreciated this unique initiative of LG administration and expressed optimism that such events shall continue to be conducted for socio-economic empowerment of rural areas at the grassroots level.
