Principal Secretary Punjab Government Cum Secretary In-Charge District Mansa Shri V.  K. Meena today took stock of the progress of the ongoing development works in the district from various departmental officials at the local Bachat Bhavan.  

On this occasion Deputy Commissioner Ms. Baldeep Kaur, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development) Mr. T. Benith, SDM Mansa Mr. Harjinder Singh Jassal, SDM Sardulgarh Poonam Singh, SDM Budhlada Pramod Singla, Assistant Commissioner (Grievances) Tushita Gulati were also present.

 Principal Secretary Mr. V.  K. Meena reviewed the ongoing procurement processes of paddy in the district from the officials involved in the procurement works and issued orders to carry out the payment and lifting of the purchased commodities as per the instructions of the state government.  

He instructed all the SDMs to personally review the purchase works at each sub-division level.  He instructed to check the registration numbers of the vehicles provided by the contractor at the time of tenders for the transportation of paddy, so that the numbers of uncertified vehicles are not included in the transport list.

Officials of procurement agencies told VK Meena that so far 1 lakh 97 thousand 279 metric tons of paddy has been purchased in the district and 267.77 crores rupees have been paid to the farmers.  

He issued an order to other officials including the Agriculture Department and said that the farmers should be made more aware not to set the paddy residue on fire.  He said that appointed nodal officers and all SDMs should inspect at their level, so that the number of fire incidents should decrease.

Principal Secretary Mr. V.  K. Meena reviewed the performance of the Aam Aadmi clinics at village Burz Hari and Rarr from the officials of the health department and  Obtained information about tests, medicines and other necessary facilities of the patients coming in OPD. Civil surgeon Dr. Harinder Sharma said that since August 15, more than 8 thousand patients have received their treatment in Aam Aadmi clinics of the district.  

He said that the supply of necessary medicines is getting uninterrupted from time to time by the Punjab government.  Mr. Meena issued instructions to SDM Mansa to make surprise visits to Aam Aadmi clinics every week. He instructed the officers of the police department to solve the complaints received in the Sanjh Kendra of the district and other various matters in a timely manner.  

He also reviewed the performance and progress of Mandi Board, District Development and Panchayat Department, Public Works Department, Drains Department, Ashirwad Scheme including Municipal Councils, District Social Security Department, District Program Office and other various departments and Instruct all officials to carry out each work in a transparent and timely manner.

 Immediately after the meeting Mr. V.  K. Meena made a surprise visit to Sewa Kendra, Sanjh Kendra Mansa and reviewed the services provided to the people.  He instructed the officials of Seva Kendra and Sanjh Kendra to do every work of the people on time without any hassle.  

Apart from this, Mr. VK Meena also reviewed the purchase of paddy at Dana Mandi Bhikhi.  He expressed satisfaction over the entire procurement process going on in the district. On this occasion, Deputy Commissioner Mrs. Baldeep Kaur assured the Principal Secretary Mr. VK Meena that no problem will be allowed in the procurement process of paddy in the district. 

She said that instructions have been issued to every departmental officer to provide the benefits of the welfare schemes of the Punjab government to the eligible beneficiaries in a transparent manner.  She said that the district administration is committed to carry out the development works of district Mansa without any delay  and to make the environment green.
