District Election Office organises Awareness/ Enrolment programme at GDC Women Anantnag

The Deputy District Election Officer (Dy. DEO), Anantnag, Nazia Hassan in collaboration with the Political Science department of Women's Degree College  today organised   an awareness cum enrolment programme at  GDC women Anantnag.

Deputy District Election while speaking on the occasion said that every effort is being taken to register all the eligible voters and BLOs have been assigned the job  to complete the exercise before 25th of this month. 

She said that special campaigns for registration of new voters as well as update of data related to specially abled persons is underway.The Deputy DEO said that every new voter should grab this opportunity to register themselves. 

She advocated a sustained IEC campaign under SVEEP to spread awareness about the electoral process as well as the importance of participating in the process.Dr Arshid the master trainer briefly discussed the various provisions of SVEEP and importance of the electoral process for democratic set up. 

A skit was presented by the artists on the occasion disseminating the message of importance of election and enrolment in the voter list.Various speakers elaborately discussed the various processes related to SVEEP. A pledge ceremony with regard to SVEEP was part of the programme. 

Students who have attained the eligible age of 18 were registered in the voter list on the spot and also those who were not in the voter list.The programme was attended by principal GDC Women, Faculty members, master trainers, BLOs, besides a large number of students.
