Commissioner Secretary, Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Mandeep Kaur, today had an exhaustive tour of Gole Gujral panchayat, Marh block and Jhajjar kotli panchayat,  Dansal block as part of Jan Abhiyan being held across the Union Territory as a prelude to fourth phase of “Back to Village” programme.

At Gole Gujral, Chairman, Block Development Council, Marh, Sarpanch, Gole Gujral, Sarpanchs of adjoining panchayats and locals raised several issues concerning development and welfare of their respective areas. 

They sought intervention of Commissioner Secretary in speedy redressal of several vital issues projected by them on the occasion.Commissioner Secretary was accompanied by ACD Jammu, ACP Jammu, CPO Jammu, Deputy Director, Planning, RDD and other officers of Jammu district.

Commissioner Secretary exhorted upon the PRI members and the general public to actively participate in the ensuing B2V4 programme to make this people friendly initiative of the government a grand success.

She said that the objective of launching this ambitious programme is to make sure that rapid development is taken to each corner of the UT by extending optimum benefit of government schemes to common man. 

She also exhorted upon the people to participate in Panchayat Awards so that their panchayat is nominated for the award.During the visit, she inspected various development works being executed under RURBAN in Gole Gujral by various departments. 

She asked the officers to make sure that all requisite quality parameters are strictly adhered to while executing these vital projects to create durable assets for the people.At Jhajjar Kotli, Commissioner Secretary interacted with the people and had feedback regarding the works being executed in their area. 

She also listened to their demands and grievances assuring an early redressal to the same.She exhorted upon the officers to conduct regular visits to their jurisdictions to oversee the implementation of development works for timely and quality completion of the same.

Commissioner Secretary reiterated government’s commitment towards taking Jammu and Kashmir to new highs of growth and development. She sought active public participation in this noble endeavor of the administration for obtaining optimum results.

She also took stock of grievances put forth by Sarpanchs of adjoining Panchayats and directed the concerned officers to mitigate the same in a speedy manner.On the occasion, Commissioner Secretary also distributed Land Passbooks among the beneficiaries in presence of  other dignitaries.

DDC, member Dansal, BDC Chairperson, ACP, Jammu, ACD, CPO Jammu, BDO Dansal, Tehsildar, Dansal, Sarpanchs, PRIs and officers and officials of concerned department were present.
