National Lok Adalat pertaining to all types of cases (except non compoundable criminal cases) was held in District Patiala on 11.5.2024 under the supervision of Ms. Rupinderjit Chahal, Ld. District & Sessions Judge-cum- Chairperson, District Legal Services Authority, Patiala. In this National Lok Adalat, 32 lok adalat benches including 18 in Patiala, 05 in Rajpura, 03 in Nabha and 04 in Samana were constituted in District Patiala.
One bench was constituted in Revenue Court of District Patiala for settlement of maximum cases pertaining to mutation and partition etc. Besides, one bench was also constituted in women cell, Patiala to resolve the cases through mutual settlement prior to registration of cases in matrimonial disputes. During this National Lok Adalat, 28401 cases were taken up under different categories and 13481 cases were settled through mutual compromise involving amount of Rs 61,41,90,692/-
During this National Lok Adalat, Ms Rupinderjit Chahal, Ld. District & Sessions Judge-cum- Chairperson, District Legal Services Authority, Patiala, accompanied by Ms. Manni Arora, Secretary of the District Legal Services Authority, Patiala, actively engaged with the benches and encouraged the parties involved to seek amicable resolutions to their disputes.
Ms. Manni Arora, CJM/Secretary of the District Legal Services Authority in Patiala, highlighted the numerous advantages of Lok Adalats. She emphasized that once a case is resolved in a Lok Adalat, its decision becomes final and cannot be appealed. Additionally, any court fees previously paid by the parties are refunded.
This process ensures a swift resolution of disputes, as per mutually agreed terms of the involved parties, leading to a beneficial outcome for all. The primary goal of Lok Adalats is to foster amicable settlements through compromise, ultimately saving time, money and mitigating personal animosity between the disputing parties.
The important feature of National Lok Adalat was the settlement of 164 family disputes which were pending before the Family Courts of Principal Judge, Sh. Muneesh Arora and Additional Principal Judge Ms Deepika Singh.

ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਅਤੇ ਸੈਸ਼ਨਜ਼ ਜੱਜ -ਕਮ- ਚੇਅਰਪਰਸਨ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਕਾਨੂੰਨੀ ਸੇਵਾਵਾਂ ਅਥਾਰਟੀ ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਮੈਡਮ ਰੁਪਿੰਦਰਜੀਤ ਚਾਹਲ ਦੀ ਨਿਗਰਾਨੀ ਹੇਠ ਹਰ ਕਿਸਮ ਦੇ ਕੇਸਾਂ (ਨਾਨ ਕੰਪਾਊਂਡੇਬਲ ਕ੍ਰਿਮੀਨਲ ਕੇਸਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ) ਸਬੰਧੀ ਕੌਮੀ ਲੋਕ ਅਦਾਲਤ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਵਿਖੇ ਲਗਾਈ ਗਈ। ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ’ਤੇ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਵਿੱਚ 32 ਬੈਂਚਾਂ (ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਵਿੱਚ 18, ਰਾਜਪੁਰਾ ਵਿੱਚ 05, ਨਾਭਾ ਵਿੱਚ 03 ਅਤੇ ਸਮਾਣਾ ਵਿੱਚ 04) ਦਾ ਗਠਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ। ਇੰਤਕਾਲ ਅਤੇ ਵੰਡ ਆਦਿ ਨਾਲ ਸਬੰਧਤ ਵੱਧ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਕੇਸਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਿਪਟਾਰੇ ਲਈ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਦੀ ਮਾਲ ਅਦਾਲਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੀ ਇੱਕ ਬੈਂਚ ਦਾ ਗਠਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ।
ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਇਲਾਵਾ ਵਿਆਹੁਤਾ ਝਗੜਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਕੇਸ ਦਰਜ ਹੋਣ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਆਪਸੀ ਸਮਝੌਤੇ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਕੇਸਾਂ ਦਾ ਨਿਪਟਾਰਾ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਵੂਮੈਨ ਸੈੱਲ, ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਵਿਖੇ ਇਕ ਬੈਂਚ ਦਾ ਗਠਨ ਵੀ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ। ਇਸ ਨੈਸ਼ਨਲ ਲੋਕ ਅਦਾਲਤ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਸ਼੍ਰੇਣੀਆਂ ਅਧੀਨ 28401 ਕੇਸਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੁਣਵਾਈ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਅਤੇ ਕੁੱਲ 13481 ਕੇਸਾਂ ਦਾ ਆਪਸੀ ਸਹਿਮਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਨਿਪਟਾਰਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ 61,41,90,692/- ਰੁਪਏ ਦੇ ਅਵਾਰਡ ਪਾਸ ਕੀਤੇ ਗਏ ।
ਇਸ ਕੌਮੀ ਲੋਕ ਅਦਾਲਤ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਮੈਡਮ ਰੁਪਿੰਦਰਜੀਤ ਚਾਹਲ, ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਅਤੇ ਸੈਸ਼ਨਜ਼ ਜੱਜ-ਕਮ- ਚੇਅਰਪਰਸਨ, ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਕਾਨੂੰਨੀ ਸੇਵਾਵਾਂ ਅਥਾਰਟੀ, ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਨੇ ਮੈਡਮ ਮਾਨੀ ਅਰੋੜਾ, ਸੀ.ਜੇ.ਐਮ/ਸਕੱਤਰ, ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਕਾਨੂੰਨੀ ਸੇਵਾਵਾਂ ਅਥਾਰਟੀ, ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਇਸ ਨੈਸ਼ਨਲ ਲੋਕ ਅਦਾਲਤ ਦੇ ਬੈਂਚਾਂ ਦਾ ਦੌਰਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਧਿਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪੋ-ਆਪਣੇ ਝਗੜਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਨਿਪਟਾਰਾ ਆਪਸੀ ਸਹਿਮਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ। ਮੈਡਮ ਮਾਨੀ ਅਰੋੜਾ, ਸੀਜੇਐਮ/ਸਕੱਤਰ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਕਾਨੂੰਨੀ ਸੇਵਾਵਾਂ ਅਥਾਰਟੀ ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਨੇ ਲੋਕ ਅਦਾਲਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਫਾਇਦਿਆਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਚਾਨਣਾ ਪਾਇਆ।
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਜ਼ੋਰ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਇੱਕ ਵਾਰ ਲੋਕ ਅਦਾਲਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੇਸ ਦਾ ਨਿਪਟਾਰਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ, ਇਸਦਾ ਫੈਸਲਾ ਅੰਤਿਮ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਇਸਦੀ ਅਪੀਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੀ। ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਇਲਾਵਾ, ਪਾਰਟੀਆਂ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਅਦਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਅਦਾਲਤੀ ਫੀਸ ਵਾਪਸ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਪ੍ਰਕਿਰਿਆ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਧਿਰਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਆਪਸੀ ਸਹਿਮਤੀ ਵਾਲੀਆਂ ਸ਼ਰਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ, ਝਗੜਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਤੇਜ਼ੀ ਨਾਲ ਹੱਲ ਨੂੰ ਯਕੀਨੀ ਬਣਾਉਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਲਈ ਇੱਕ ਲਾਹੇਵੰਦ ਨਤੀਜਾ ਨਿਕਲਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਲੋਕ ਅਦਾਲਤਾਂ ਦਾ ਮੁਢਲਾ ਟੀਚਾ ਸਮਝੌਤੇ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਸੁਖਾਵੇਂ ਮਾਹੌਲ ਨੂੰ ਉਤਸ਼ਾਹਿਤ ਕਰਨਾ ਹੈ, ਅੰਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਮੇਂ, ਪੈਸੇ ਦੀ ਬਚਤ ਕਰਨਾ ਅਤੇ ਝਗੜੇ ਵਾਲੀਆਂ ਧਿਰਾਂ ਵਿਚਕਾਰ ਨਿੱਜੀ ਦੁਸ਼ਮਣੀ ਨੂੰ ਘਟਾਉਣਾ ਹੈ। ਨੈਸ਼ਨਲ ਲੋਕ ਅਦਾਲਤ ਦੀ ਮਹੱਤਵਪੂਰਨ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ਤਾ 164 ਪਰਿਵਾਰਿਕ ਝਗੜਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਸੰਬੰਧਤ ਕੇਸਾਂ ਦਾ ਨਿਪਟਾਰਾ ਕਰਨਾ ਸੀ, ਜੋ ਕਿ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਜੱਜ, ਸ਼. ਮੁਨੀਸ਼ ਅਰੋੜਾ ਅਤੇ ਵਧੀਕ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਜੱਜ ਸ਼੍ਰੀਮਤੀ ਦੀਪਿਕਾ ਸਿੰਘ ਦੀ ਪਰਿਵਾਰਕ ਅਦਾਲਤਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਅਧੀਨ ਸਨ।
