Surbhi Malik, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, Ludhiana today launched the 24x7 Animal Rescue Helpline for District Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA), Ludhiana. The launch saw the august presence of Shena Aggarwal, IAS, Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Ludhiana, Dr Kaustubh Sharma, IPS, Commissioner of Police, Ludhiana, Gurpreet Gogi, MLA, Ludhiana West, Dr. P.S. Walia, Deputy Director, Animal Husbandry, Ludhiana, along with animal lovers and representatives of NGO in Ludhiana - Pooja Jain and Sunil Narula.
The newly launched 24x7 helpline number: 78370-18522 with the vision of Prevention of Cruelty to Animals and providing rescue and medical assistance to injured/ sick animals, both large and small, will serve as a beacon of hope for animals, animal welfare activists and animal welfare organisations in district Ludhiana, Punjab.
Due to the rise in cruelty against animals and taking into consideration the requests of animal lovers and animal welfare organizations, the complaints of animal cruelty will actively be addressed through this helpline number and appropriate action will be taken to reduce cruelty against animals in Ludhiana, Punjab.
