SCERT, J&K, Divisional Office Jammu today organised Divisional Level JawaharLal Nehru Science, Mathematics and Environment Exhibition for Children and Seminar on Scientific Academic Institute of India– 2021-22 in collaboration with NCERT New Delhi, to inculcate the scientific temper among the budding future scientists studying at Secondary and Sr. Secondary Level at Teacher Bhawan Gandhi Nagar Jammu.

The event was inaugurated by Dr. Ravi Shankar Sharma, Director School Education Jammu as the chief guest.H. R. Pakhroo, Joint Director SCERT J&K, Rajesh Kumar, Personnel Officer Directorate of School Education Jammu, Chief Education Officer Jammu, Suraj Singh Rathore, Principal DIETs, SCERT Faculty, students and Escort teachers.

The Chief Guest observed all the models exhibited by the students of various schools with keen interest and appreciated the efforts and scientific attitude of the students. He impressed upon the significance of the innovative, creative, and experiential learning among the students and providing frequent opportunities for giving the students wider exposure.

Director School Education appreciated the talent of the participating students. He emphasized the teachers to encourage the students to come forward with new and innovative ideas regarding the betterment of their immediate surroundings.

The theme for this year’s exhibition is “TECHNOLOGY AND TOYS”, which covers the following sub-themes: Eco-Friendly Material; Health and Cleanliness; Software and Apps; Transport; Mathematical Modelling; Environmental and Climate Changes The exhibits were adjudged by Prof.Arun Bharti- HoD Deptt of Physics University of Jammu, Dr.Rajiv Kumar Asstt Prof Mathematics- GGM Science College and senior academic faculty from SCERT J&K Jammu; while as participants of Seminar’ were adjudged by Dr.Suphla Gupta, Dr.Sundeep Jaglan, Principal Scientists from IIIM Jammu Dr.Sandeep Arya, Asstt Prof Deptt of Physics University of Jammu and Dr. Balgar AO SCERTJK.

The participating students were awarded with the certificate of participation, and the first three entries in exhibition All and seminar were awarded with the prizes. First Three Toppers adjudged at Exhibition were Solar Tracker Model by Rummy Sharma and Chahat Sharma from GHS Parangoli Kathua, 2.

Green Building Model by Manvi Dabgotra and Abhay GGHSS Rehari, 3.Mathematics Model by Bhumi and Parinitika from MS Jakhar Udhampur.Toppers judged at Seminar were Suhani Rajput from HSS Hatli Kathua, Manesha Devi from HSS Keerian Kathua, and Parnav Sharma from BHSS Sunderbani Rajouri.

The first three toppers from Exhibition shall further participate at National Level to be organized by NCERT, New Delhi later in this year.Valedictory function on the occasion was presided by Deep Raj Project Director, Samagra Shiksha J&K who in his address emphasised upon promoting interest in science and technology by engaging students in learning new facts and inventions with a zeal of interest by exploring the creative talent of the students and force them to think outside of the box by organising such events.

The vote of thanks was presented by JD SCERT, Jammu, H.R. Pakhroo, who congratulated the students for their excellence, the accompanying teachers, DIET principles, judges and the organizing team.The program was successfully accomplished by the Nodal officer, SLSMEE, Kuldeep Kumar, Sr. Academic Officer, Stage Secretary. Rakhi Atri, Sr. Academic Officer and other team members including  Amit Sharma, Dr. Sabeta Kohli, Suresh Kumar Gouria, Ranjeet Manhas, Rajesh Hali, Sunil Kumar, Navneet Gupta, Rakesh Chobber, Academic Officers, Ruchi Mohan and Pratibha Jamwal.
