Awareness rally against plastic by RBU students

Rayat Bahra University School of Management Studies organised a rally on "Say No to Plastic-Save Earth” to spread awareness among the masses about the hazardous effects of plastic on environment and human beings at the Rayat Bahra University.

Students from the Department of Management came together to organise this rally against the use of plastic. The main objective of this rally was to spread awareness among the students of the university about the effects of polythene on earth. 

During the drive, students interacted with the staff and faculty of the University about the hazardous effects of plastic and guided them to use paper and cloth bags. Students raised slogans during the rally “Think green, Act green”, “Save Earth”, “save ourselves, Save earth from plastic Birth”, “Go with the tactic, Cut the plastic”, “Less plastic, more life”, “Heal the planet, stop using plastic”.

Meanwhile, University School of Computer Application organised a campaign on "Save Electricity” to create awareness about energy conservation at the Rayat Bahra University campus.Students held placards bearing the message, “Today wastage is Tomorrow Shortage”, “Do what’s right, turn off the light”, “The less you burn, the more you earn”, “Turn off the light, get the future bright”, “Save Power, Save nation” as they took out a rally.

Gurwinder Singh Bahra, Chancellor, Rayat Bahra University, addressing the rally reiterated the need of creating awareness in educational institutions to transform the society. Dr Parvinder Singh, Vice-Chancellor, lauded the students’ initiative in taking out awareness rallies. 

Dr Avikshit, Dean, University School of Management Studies, speaking on this occasion said that this is a collaborative effort by the University School of Management. Anshu Gauba, Head, Department of Management, and Anita Goyal, Head, Department of Computer Application, also addressed the rallies.
