To celebrate the National Voluntary blood donation day, District Red Cross Society Udhampur today organised a painting and Symposium competition in collaboration with the Chief Education Office here at Happy Model Higher Secondary School .

The  theme of the competition was “Donating blood is an act of solidarity, join the efforts and save lives “ with the aim to draw attention of youth towards the importance of voluntary blood donation in saving lives of numerous peoples around the world.

 Dr. Chander Prakash former (Retd.) Director Health Services,   Jammu was the chief guest, while Ved Prakash Sharma, Secretary District Red Cross Society Udhampur was the guest of honour. They  inaugurated the event by  lighting the traditional lamp.

Five Educational Institutions, GHSS Boys Udhampur, GHSS Girls Udhampur, MS Shiv nagar, Happy model Higher Secondary School, GGHS Udhampur and MS Gopa mandir participated in the contest.Professor Monkia, Professor Neelam Sharma and Professor Anupama  acted as judges.

In Painting competition, Smarty of SCTM GHSS Girls Udhampur was adjudged as 1st, while Rahul of SIKS GHSS Boys bagged 2nd and  Itihaz of Happy Model HSS got  3rd position, respectively. In the Symposium competition, Ruhaani of Happy Model HSS Bagged 1st, while Karan of SIKS HSS Boys Udhampur 2nd and Priya of SCTM HSS Girls  bagged 3rd position.

Rinku Khana, ZICC Udhampur acted as stage secretary during the program. Rakesh Singh DICC played an important role in the organisation of the programme on behalf of Chief Education Office Udhampur. It is pertinent to mention that the drive was started on 17th September 2022 and concluded today on the 72nd birthday of the Prime Minister of India that is 1st October 2022.
