A cycle rally and Run for Freedom were organised here today by Rayat Bahra University wherein a large number of students and staff members participated.The event was organised to commemorate the 115th birth anniversary of Shaheed Bhagat Singh.

Dean of Students Welfare, Dr. Simerjit Kaur flagged off the rally. The Cycle Rally was followed by Run for Freedom which started from the University Campus.Gurvinder Singh Bahra, Chancellor of the Rayat Bahra University, speaking on the occasion motivated the youth to channelise their energies in the right direction.

Vice-Chancellor Dr. Parvinder Singh said that the need of the hour was to guide the youth in the right direction by involving them in sports and other activities.He counselled the youth not to indulge in drugs and to contribute their energies for the growth of the nation.

An expert talk on philosophy of Shaheed Bhagat Singh was also organised where Dr. Aswani Bhalla, Deputy DPI, was the guest of Honour.A Nukkad Natak on drug abuse was staged by students to highlight the ill effects of drugs.
