Deputy Commissioner Jammu Avny Lavasa today reviewed the ongoing/new works proposed under District Capex Budget including DDC, BDC, PRI components, MGNREGA and Swachh Bharat Mission.

At the outset, threadbare discussion was held on the progress of works taken up to cater to the developmental needs of the district, with special focus on strengthening grassroots level democracy.

The concerned official informed the Chair that   3171 have been works approved under PRI component, out of which the estimates of 3065 works have been prepared and 2899 tendered.Regarding the BDC component, the DC was apprised that against 265 works, estimates of 257 have been prepared and 235 tendered. Similarly, 290 works of DDC component have been approved and estimates of 274 have been prepared and 244 tendered.

Speaking on the occasion, the DC stressed on the concerned authorities to take all possible measures to accelerate the pace of various ongoing works on different projects for their time-bound completion.

The Deputy Commissioner emphasized on completion of all the pending works on priority so that the aspirations of the public are met. She also cautioned that any kind of laxity in completing the works within a fixed time line will not be tolerated at all.

The Deputy Commissioner exhorted for mobilizing men and machinery for completing the projects in a stipulated time frame, besides urged to ensure productive and fruitful utilization of the available resources.CPO, Yoginder Katoch; ACD,  BDOs, besides other senior officers were present in the meeting.
