Punjab Finance Minister Advocate Harpal Singh Cheema on Engineers Day gave a clarion call to the engineers of the state to make their best contribution in Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s mission of restoring the pristine glory of the state as Rangla Punjab.
Addressing the function organized by the Council of Diploma Engineers here at the PSEB auditorium to mark Engineers Day, the Finance Minister said that engineers have played a critical role in the nation-building and improving the lifestyle of humankind.
“In order to meet the needs of the government in serving a growing population amid new challenges, the engineers of different departments of the state shall contribute in their respective ways”, said Cheema.
Assuring the government’s full support to the engineers from various departments, Cheema said that due to the efforts being made by the Punjab government to restore the fiscal health of the state, the high targets set for this financial year were being successfully achieved.
He said that all the legitimate demands raised by the Council of Diploma Engineers in its memorandum would be fulfilled soon as the government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has adopted new economic and governance policies to increase the revenue without putting any new burden on anyone.
On this occasion, Punjab Water Supply and Sanitation Minister Brahm Shanker Jimpa also congratulated all the engineers for their enormous contribution to the development of the state and the nation. He also remembered the contribution made by the engineers during various eras in history.
