With the object to make ‘Nasha Mukt J&K Abhiyan’ a public campaign, District Administration Kathua today organized arrays of awareness activities covering rural and urban landscape of the district.The activities focusing on the role of stakeholders in lowering down the drug addiction cases in the district were held through health, school education, higher education, social welfare, Nehru Yuva Kendra and Municipalities under the Community Sensitization Plan of the District Administration.

The day witnessed massive community mobilization, when 180 Panchayats of Kathua district unanimously passed a resolution to observe zero tolerance towards drug abuse in panchayat halqas and make monthly review meetings on Nasha Mukt Abhiyan a regular feature of PRIs.

The pledge was administered in schools, colleges, Panchayats Ghars, and other government offices across the district.Awareness rallies, debates and poster making competitions were also held at different educational institutions to educate people about the need to put in collective efforts for removing drug menace from the society. The participants vowed to stay away from drugs and put in sincere efforts to make India a drug-free country.
