With the aim of making Punjab, which was once number one in sports, a leading state in sports again, the Punjab government has drawn the Sports Mahakumbh under the name of 'Khedan Watan Punjab Diyan and surely this platform will be prove helpful in brightening the future of our children and youth.  

This was expressed by the cabinet minister of Punjab.  Harpal Singh Cheema participated as the chief guest in block level sports competitions under khedan Watan Punjab Diyan at Kauhrian and Dirba.  Shri Cheema said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Bhagwant Mann, the government is committed to promoting sports in the state and providing due respect to the sportsmen so that our sportsmen can register proud achievements in national and can become capable international level sports.  

The cabinet minister said that all winning players will be covered in the state's gradation policy.  He said that this is a very worthwhile initiative to promote sports to save the youth of Punjab from the swamp of drugs and despite the heat, sportsmen and women are participating in these sports competitions with full enthusiasm, which indicates  

That there will be a sports revolution in Punjab in the future.  The cabinet minister said that it is necessary to promote sports to create a healthy society and today every block of Punjab is seen in the color of sports. Before the dirba, the cabinet minister Mr. Cheema inaugurated the renovation of the Shaheed Chitwant Singh Memorial Stadium.  

Mr. Cheema said that the winners of the block level competitions will try their luck in the district level competition from September 12 to September 22 and the winners of these competitions will show their strength in state level sports competitions starts from October 10 to October 21.

On this occasion, Sub Divisional Magistrate Rajesh Sharma, District Sports Officer Ranbir Singh and other officials and leaders were also present.
