As part of the celebration of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav', the Ministry of Power in collaboration with NHPC & JPDCL on Tuesday organized a mega event to celebrate the Ujjwal Bharat Ujjwal Bhavishya power @2047 programme here at JKTDC Conference Hall Patnitop.

DDC Chairperson Udhampur, Lal Chand was the chief guest who formally inaugurated the event  in presence of BDC Chairman Chenani, Parkash Chand; President MC Chenani, Manik Gupta; DDC Councillor, Usha Devi; SDM, Parvaiz Naik and other officers of different departments, besides prominent citizens.

While highlighting the achievements of the country in the power sector, the chief guest exhorted to enthuse more vibrancy in the working of the department by strengthening and streamlining public service delivery mechanism. 

He urged the officers of the concerned department to sensitise the masses at grassroots level so that more and more beneficiaries are covered within the ambit of government schemes.

The DDC Chairperson impressed upon the need to sensitise the people for playing an active role in reducing power losses and strengthening the power sector. He added that the Government of India launched several welfare schemes and appealed to the public to come forward to avail the benefits of these schemes.
