Amarnath ji pilgrims accorded rousing reception at Udhampur

The first batch of pilgrims of Shri AmarNath ji Yatra 2022 was accorded a rousing reception by District Administration on their arrival here at Kali Mata Mandir Tikri Udhampur this morning.On reaching Kali Mata Temple, the civil and police administration welcomed the pilgrims and offered light refreshment, sweets and drinking water to the pilgrims.

Later, District Development Council Chairperson, Udhampur Lal Chand and Deputy Commissioner, Krittika Jyotsna flagged off the pilgrims for their onward journey to Kashmir.Senior Superintendent of Police, Dr Vinod Kumar, Additional District Development Commissioner, Anu Behl, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Mohammad Syed Khan, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Rafiq Ahmed Jaral and other officers besides eminent citizens of the district were also present on the occasion.

Earlier, a large number of local people along with district officers received the first batch of pilgrims comprising 2228 yatries at Kali Mata Mandir Tikri Udhampur.The DDC informed that this year the district administration has established a total of 14 Medical Aid Centres and 28 Langars en-route Shri Amarnath Yatra in the district. 

Besides, a Control room has been established for providing every type of information to the yatries. The Yatra convoy comprised 1773 males 447 females 02 children and 06 transgender. They left in various motor vehicles  for two different routes i:e Baltal and Pahalgam base camps in Kashmir valley.

To welcome the Yatris, the students of Government Higher Secondary School and Sainik Cooperative Public High School Tikri presented a cultural programme featuring theme based performances.

The authorities urged upon the pilgrims to utilize and avail all the facilities being extended by the government during the yatra. The pilgrims were also informed about the arrangements made for them at the base camp, besides other facilities being extended to them.

The pilgrims appreciated the goodwill gesture of Civil and Police Administration Udhampur for according them rousing reception and cooperation.
