Earlier this year, it was announced that Bollywood was all set to make a movie about Amritsar-based Er Jaswant Singh Gill, who died on November 26, 2019. Gill had played a significant role in the rescue work of miners that got trapped inside a flooded coal mine in Raniganj, West Bengal in 1989.
The cast of the film has been finalised. The next will feature none other than Khiladi Kumar, aka Akshay Kumar, and Parineeti Chopra. The film has been titled Capsule Gill, and the filming for the same has started. Moreover, this is not the first time the duo will be working together on any project. Earlier, they joined hands and shared the screen for the film ‘Kesari’.
If reports are to be believed, the pre-production and all will be completed and the team will fly to the UK on June 29 to kick-start filming on July 4th. “Akshay Kumar will continue shooting till July 31 and will resume shooting yet again in September after wrapping up Raksha Bandhan promotions and other work commitments,” sources added.
According to news reports, the director of this upcoming film has spent the previous five years consistently learning about Engineer Jaswant Singh Gill and the 1989 Raniganj coal mine catastrophe. To learn as much as possible about the tragedy and the life of Jaswant Singh Gill, he even spoke with his son, Dr. Sarvpreet Singh Gill.
Now, fans are excited about the film. Though Akshay was recently seen in the historical action drama Samrat Prithviraj, which turned out to be a disaster at the box office. But everyone hopes and prays that this film will change everyone's perception of AK and his films and become one of the best films of his career.
Now coming back to Capsule Gill, the film has been supported by Pooja Entertainment's Vashu and Jackky Bagnani, and Kyta Productions’ Ajay Kapoor is the co-producer of the movie.
