Deputy Commissioner, Kathua Rahul Pandey today chaired a meeting to finalize the arrangements for smooth conduct of the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2022.Principal GMC Kathua, DC State Taxes, DPO, ICDS, Registrar (Yatra Officer) besides other officers attended the meeting.
The DC, while reviewing the arrangements, directed the concerned departments to focus on provisioning of facilities for yatris well before the commencement of the Yatra. The DC also asked the nodal officers to provide the list of staff to be deployed at Lakhanpur and along the yatra route for issuance of ID Cards.
The concerned departments were asked to ensure provision of safe drinking water, power supply, Medical facilities, toilets, Sanitation facilities, lodging and langer facilities, Traffic and security arrangements etc. He directed the departments to work in tandem for finalizing the necessary arrangements at the earliest.
Directing the concerned officers of NHAI & Tourism department, the DC called for installation of digital screens, hoardings and signages on Yatra route across the district.The DC also directed DPO ICDS to ensure exhibition of local artifacts and products of SHGs at identified locations through Handicraft, Handlooms, AYUSH and NRLM departments besides arrangements for cultural performances at identified Yatra points to introduce the Yatris with the local folk dance and music.
The meeting also discussed at length facilities in lodgement centres, illumination of dark spots, establishment of SRTC counter, control room, disaster Plan, check on quality of food and eatables, proper sanitation on yatra route etc.
