Kicking off the campaign for the Sangrur bypoll, Gurmail Singh, a well-educated candidate of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), on Saturday launched a door-to-door campaign from the Bhadaur constituency.

Accompanied by Bhadaur segment MLA Labh Singh Ugoke and party workers, Gurmail Singh canvassed in about 16 villages including Rajiya, Kalke, Tappa, Dhilwan, Bhadaur and others and got a stupendous response from people of the constituency.

The Sangrur is a bastion of AAP and incumbent Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann had remained a two-time member parliamentary from this seat in 2014 and 2019. This seat fell vacant after Mann, resigned as MP following his triumph from the Dhuri constituency in the state assembly elections.

“After witnessing the love and support of people today, I am confident that this election too, AAP will register a record victory from Sangrur. All the old records will be broken by the party,” Gurmail Singh said during his campaign.

He said that he is contesting the poll on basis of two and half month’s extraordinary governance by the AAP government led by the dynamic leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, who has taken a myriad of pro-people initiatives to transform Punjab.

He said that people have faith in AAP and it has increased after they witnessed AAP’s governance in Punjab. The party will register a thumping victory in the Sangrur elections.AAP’s candidate Gurmail is connected to his roots and has been working diligently for the welfare of Sangrur residents for the past many years.

He was later elected as Sarpanch of Gharachon village in 2018 and AAP had appointed him district president of Sangrur district in 2021.Meanwhile, Gurmail Singh further said that he would carry forward the mission of CM Mann and will work industriously for the welfare of Sangrur residents, after winning this seat.
