The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is gearing up for the civic body pools in Punjab, that are to be held later this year. On Thursday, AAP Punjab affairs in-charge Jarnail Singh held a meeting with the Ministers and MLAs of the related Municipal Corporations. In this meeting, Punjab Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema, Minister Bram Shanker Jimpa, Education Minister Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer, Health Minister Dr Vijay Singla and other MLAs were present and election strategies for these upcoming MC elections were the main agenda of the meeting.

MC elections are to be held in Jalandhar, Amritsar, Ludhiana, Patiala and Phagwara Municipal Corporations. Aam Aadmi Party has registered land sliding victories in the constituencies of these corporations. In these districts, the Aam Aadmi Party got a unilateral victory and the opposition parties were completely wiped out. Many big stalwarts of Akali Dal and Congress lost the elections. After the bumper victory of the Aam Aadmi Party in the assembly elections, the party is going very confidently for the municipal elections.

After the formation of AAP government in the state Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has taken many pro-people and pro-Punjab decisions. The decisions and actions of the AAP government will also have an impact on the municipal elections and the party will get the benefit of it. Jarnail Singh said that the Aam Aadmi Party will field honest candidates from all wards and register big wins like assembly polls.
