GNDU students in tremendous demand by the National and Multinational Companies Placement reached at 881 of 2022 batch

Directorate of Placement & Career Enhancement of Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar organized 65 placement drives in the academic session 2021-22 for the job placement of the students. Till now, a total of 881 students have been placed from Batch passing out in June 2022. These students will join their jobs in July, 2022 after passing out their respective courses.Dr. B.S. Bajwa, Prof.-in-Charge (Placements) said that major recruiters for the Engineering and MCA students were Capgemini, Accenture, Amdocs, Wipro, TCS,  KPMG, Newgen, PwC, Nagarro and many other national and multinational companies. Major recruiters for Business and Economics faculty students were ICICI Securities, ICICI Prudential, Bandhan Bank, HDFC Life, HDFC Bank, Khanna Paper Mills, Gujarat Gas and TCS.Aakash Institute also selected 23 students from Sciences and Life Sciences background at a good salary package of Rs. 7.23 Lakhs per annum. Companies like Jubilant Biosys and Zydus Life Sciences are in pipeline for recruitment of sciences and life sciences students of 2022 batch.It shows that despite COVID-19 situation, reputed National and Multinational companies are hiring students in quite big numbers from GNDU, Amritsar.

Highest and Average Package:

The highest salary package was Rs. 17.50 Lakhs per annum offered by Zscaler company. The average pay package jumped from Rs. 5.16 Lakh per annum in academic session 2020-21 to Rs. 5.84 Lakh per annum in academic session 2021-22.Students of various courses from main campus Amritsar as well as the regional campuses of Jalandhar and Gurdaspur participated in these placement drives. Due to COVID-19 issues, most of the placement drives were organized online by the Directorate of Placement & Career Enhancement.Apart from placement drives, a large number of internship drives were also conducted by the department. Many companies offered both placement as well as internship to the selected students. In total, 310 students were offered internships from GNDU. The highest internship stipend of Rs. 80,000 per month was paid by Amazon.Directorate of Placement & Career Enhancement of Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar also organized more than 30 online webinars and seminars for the skill development, career guidance and industrial exposure to the students. 

Various Govt. / Semi Govt. and Private organizations participated in these webinars and seminars.Inspite of COVID-19 issues, the demand for the GNDU students by the corporate world itself speaks of the quality infrastructure and facilities available at GNDU, Amritsar. Moreover, the academic education imparted by the faculty at GNDU is aiming at holistic development of students by imbuing the right qualities of head and heart.Vice Chancellor Dr. Jaspal Singh Sandhu and Dean Academic Afffairs Dr. S.S. Behl congratulated the students for this great success. Dr. B.S. Bajwa, Prof.-in-Charge (Placements) said that many more companies have confirmed their visit in near future to recruit the students of GNDU. Dr. Amit Chopra, Asstt. Placement Officer added that the GNDU is one of the favourite hunting grounds for Top multinational firms.A Model Career Centre has been established at Directorate of Placement & Career Enhancement with a grant of Rs. 32,44,500/- sanctioned for by Ministry of Labour & Employment, Govt. of India. This centre will work for the career guidance and job fair organization for the students of this region.
