B Srinivasan, Additional Chief Electoral Officer Punjab today visited ITI Moga regarding the security of EVM strong rooms, where counting of the all 04 assembly constituencies of the district would be held.Present on the occasion were District Election Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner Mr Harish Nayar, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Urban Development) Mr Surinder Singh, Mr Satwant Singh Returning Officer Moga, Mr Amrik Singh Returning Officer Mr Nihal Singh Wala, Mr Nitish Singla Returning Officer Baghapurana, Mrs Charumita Returning Officer Dharamkot and officials of concerned departments were present.On the occasion, Mr Srinivasan expressed satisfaction over the strong rooms and security arrangements made for the safekeeping of voting machines in all the assembly constituencies and said that up to mark arrangements have been made where three-level security measures have been put in place along with 24 hours Central Armed Police Force (CAPF), Armed Police and Punjab Police Deployment. Security forces are keeping a close watch on the strong rooms 24 hours a day. CCTV cameras have been installed to monitor each of the strong rooms, which are viewed through LEDs outside the strong rooms.

 The Additional Chief Electoral Officer Punjab also visited the Facilitation Center-cum-Control Room set up to monitor the live feeding of CCTV cameras. Candidates / Representatives contesting in this control room can come and see the footage (view) of the security arrangements made in the strong rooms. On the occasion, Additional Chief Electoral Officer Punjab interacted with the political representatives who arrived at the Facilitation Center-cum-Control Room to see the footage of the security arrangements of the Strong Rooms. They also expressed satisfaction over the security arrangements made by the district administration.Speaking on the occasion Mr Harish Nayar said that the voting machines have been kept in the strong rooms under strict security arrangements. No officer/any person is allowed to enter inside the strong room. Under the direction of the Election Commission, 24 hours police personnel and CAPF personnel are deployed. There is a logbook (duty roster) for the deployed police personnel. CCTV cameras have been installed in strong rooms for security/monitoring of voting machines. The District Electoral Officer, Moga further said that as per the directions of the Hon'ble Election Commission of India, strong security arrangements have been made for the strong rooms and the counting of votes would be carried out peacefully on March 10.
