Aam Aadmi Party's (AAP) Punjab chief ministerial candidate Bhagwant Mann launched a scathing attack on the Badal family in Lambi, the stronghold of Akali Dal and Parkash Singh Badal. Mann said that in Punjab the direction of wind has changed. The political inning of Badal family is about to end for good. Due to the greed of power, Sr. Badal is asking people for another chance to serve when he himself needs the help of four people to get on stage. Mann said that at the age of 94, when people pray and stay home with their families, Parkash Singh Badal is begging for votes for his son Sukhbir Badal.Bhagwant Mann even recited the line of famous Punjabi poet Surjit Patar for Parkash Badal and said, "Pippal de pattya kahdi khar-khar lai hai, patt jhad gaye... rutt naveyan di aai hai." He said that this is the time for Punjab. It belongs to the youth and the new generation of Punjab. Only youth will decide the future of Punjab. But instead of giving a chance to the newcomers, Parkash Badal is contesting the last three elections saying that it is his last one.
Mann said that the family of AAP candidate Gurmeet Singh Khudian has faced many atrocities of Badal family during their 10 years of regime. But the Khudian family has always stood by the people. This time the people of Lambi will teach the Badal family a lesson for all their atrocities and corruption.On Monday, Bhagwant Mann campaigned in favor of AAP candidates of Lambi, Gidderbaha and Malout assembly constituencies. During this, he appealed to the people to support AAP candidate Gurmeet Singh Khudian from Lambi, Preetpal Sharma candidate from Gidderbaha and Dr. Baljit Kaur for Malout seat. Local leaders and party workers accompanied Mann who was welcomed by the people of Sri Muktsar Sahib District with great enthusiasm and showered flowers on his convoy. Mann thanked people for their love and warm welcome and said that their support strengthen him and encourage him.Mann said that both Akali and Congress party has betrayed the people of Punjab. For the last two decades the youth of Punjab is on the roads and asking for employment.
But, Akali and Congress leaders were busy amassing money and property for themselves and never cared for the youth of Punjab. He said that Congress promised jobs to every household of Punjab and here we are after 5 years, no jobs and no regularisation of contractual workers.Mann promised to solve the problems of the youth of Punjab; said AAP government will provide adequate job opportunities to the unemployed youth and will give government incentives for self-employment and new businesses. Mann said that AAP will stop the brain drain and forced migration of youth by providing adequate opportunities and resources in Punjab itself. Mann appealed to the people to vote for the Aam Aadmi Party and said that this time we all have to change the fortunes of Punjab together.
