Vice Chairperson, Khadi Village Industries Board (KVIB), Dr. Hina Shafi Bhat today visited the Common Facility Centre of Masterjee Beekeeping cluster.Secretary J&K Khadi & Village Industries Board (KVIB), Farukh Qazi, Deputy Chief executive officer,   Muzaffar Allaqband, Divisional officer Jammu, Tilak Raj, Dr Sandeep Kotwal besides associated beekeepers and stakeholders from the cluster area were present on the occasion.VC inaugurated 5 day beekeeping training for associated beekeepers. She underscored the need for modernising the beekeeping practises for enhanced results. She asked the officers of KVIB and ITCO to extend every possible hand-holding to the trainees.Earlier, Dr Hina Shafi Bhat visited the Common Facility Centre of the said cluster to take stock of ongoing works there. She asked the concerned stakeholders to coordinate and ensure target-oriented implementation of the cluster.

Referring to main objective of the cluster, she stated that with the establishment of this cluster the earning of beekeepers of the district shall increase, besides raising the profit margin and production of honey in the district. She added that the cluster is coming up with project cost of Rs. 133.65 lakh and CFC shall house Honey Processing Plant, Comb Foundation mill and other relevant machines and equipments. The facilities of honey extraction, processing, packing, labelling and marketing shall be provided to beekeepers of the area under one roof.Vice Chairperson visited various micro industries units established under PMEGP and JKREGP in various areas of Samba.She expressed satisfaction over implementation of employment generation schemes in the district. She emphasized the need for penetration in remote areas through organisation of localised awareness.
