Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab affairs co-in-charge Raghav Chadha said that the governments have come and gone but there is one person who has been in power for the last 15 years. First he was part of SAD-BJP government in Punjab for 10 years then he was again part of government as Congress leader. But even after being in power this person has done nothing for Punjab and the people here. Raghav Chadha was talking PPCC President Navjot Singh Sidhu.Addressing the media in Chandigarh on Monday, Raghav Chadha called Navjot Sidhu ‘drama-queen’ of Punjab politics. He said that first Navjot Singh Sidhu used to call Dr. Manmohan Singh Mookmohan Singh and Sonia Gandhi was Munni and Rahul Gandhi was Pappu to him. But, after joining the Congress party, the same Navjot Singh Sidhu started worshipping these leaders.Chadha said that Navjot Sidhu have no vision for Punjab. His only goal is to become the Chief Minister of Punjab and get power by any means.
Sidhu is so greedy for the CM post that if DMK tells him that they will make you the Chief Minister, he will join DMK and go to Tamil Nadu to become the Chief Minister. Chadha said that during the Akali-BJP government, Sidhu was an MP of BJP for 10 years. He was a Congress MLA from 2017 to 2022 and was also a minister in the Congress government. But till date he has not done anything for the people of Punjab. That is why no one, not even the Congress party takes Sidhu seriously.Chadha said that even in Aam Aadmi Party’s poll to elect Punjab’s CM candidate, only 3.5% people voted for Navjot Singh Sidhu. But, Bhagwant Mann was the first choice of 93.3% people, because Bhagwant Mann has been raising the voice of the people and their issues in the Parliament. That’s why people like him and wants him as a leader and the next CM of Punjab. Chadha said that the purpose of Sidhu’s PC was to divert the attention of people from the issue of sand mafia and seized money and properties in ED raids.
Chadha said that Aam Aadmi Party strongly condemn Sidhu’s statement. He is a leader of the ruling party of the state. He should choose his words more carefully and be more responsible about his statements. He said that the thing hurting Sidhu is that neither the people of Punjab nor the Congress party wants him as the chief minister. That’s why he is now making shoddy statements in the state of apprehension.Raghav Chadha also questioned Navjot Singh Sidhu’s silence in the matter of sand mafia running in CM Channi’s constituency. Chadha said that since Channi’s name has come to light as a patronage of sand mafia in Punjab, Navjot Sidhu is silent, before that he used to make noise about every issue like drug mafia, transport mafia etc. Chadha asked whether Navjot Sidhu has joined sand mafia himself. Chadha said that since Navjot Sidhu like calculations so much, he should tell the source of Rs. 11 crores that are seized from Channi’s nephew in ED raids.
