Meeting the long pending demand of villagers of his constituency, on Friday, MLA Raminder Awla, laid the foundation stone of 14 km long Suhelewala Minor at a cost of Rs.16 cr at village Veroke.The villages benefitted will be Chakk Dhab, Khushal Zoiyan, Chakk Panj Kohi, Chakk Kabar Wala, Chakk Gulab Sasool Wala, Chakk Balochl, Bhamni Wala etc.In view of the long standing demand of farmers of village Chakk Dhab Khushal Zoiyan, Chakk Panj Kohi, Chakk Kabar Wala, Chakk Gulab Rasool Wala, Chakk Baloch, Bahmani Wala etc., MLA Jalalabad Raminder Awla The foundation stone was laid at the village of Veroke.Addressing a large public gathering on the occasion Raminder Awla said “Farmers and agriculture is my life and I consider my life incomplete without it”.He said, this Minor would benefit many villages and encourage farmers. Punjab is an agriculture oriented state so the formation of minor would be like a lifeline and this will benefit all types of farmers in Jalalabad, big and small and more than 5,000 farmers would start getting canal water which would make agriculture more prosperous.

MLA also said that the government has also released Rs.702.56 lakh for acquiring land for this project and ths canal would be constructed with concrete lining so that it has long duration and canal would continue to supply water to the farmers for many decades to come.On this occasion compensation checks were also distributed to the farmers whose land has been acquired.  This 14 km Canal will have 15 bridges, 3 Falls, 4 Drain Crossings, 5 Field Water Crossins and one head regulator.MLA also apprised the audience about the schemes being run by the Punjab government and said that the state government has given a big relief to the people by making diesel, petrol and electricity cheaper. He said under the new announcements,  Rs.1.5 crore electricity bills of Jalalabad constituency have been waived.On this occasion the victory of farmers of repeal of three farm laws was also celebrated by MLA Awla with the people of Jalalabad constituency.Apart from Jatin Awal, Panch, Sarpanch and party leaders of the area were also present on the occasion.
