The Director General (DG) Horticulture, Kashmir, Ajaz Ahmad Bhat today conducted an extensive tour of district Budgam.During the visit, the DG inaugurated a mini Apple Washing and Grading Machine (AW&GM) at village Choon, of the district. He also met a large number of orchardists and advised them to avail benefits of different Departmental schemes especially newly launched Modified High Density Plantation Scheme.Bhat encouraged the farmers of the area, particularly marginal and small farmers to come forward and take advantage of the new High Density Plantation Scheme.The DG also visited many Low Cost Canning Centres in the district that have been established with the Departmental assistance by the private entrepreneurs.He instructed the Chief Horticulture Officer, Budgam that these Centers be upgraded and brought under PMFME Scheme.During the visit, the DG was accompanied by Chief Horticulture Officer Budgam and other officers of the district.
