In one of ambitious beautification project of the city, Food, Civil supplies and Consumer Affairs Minister Bharat Bhushan Ashu on Saturday inaugurated façade lightings at southern bypass bridge along with Sidhwan Canal on the eve of 75th Independence Day.The façade light project has been installed at the cost of Rs 2.38 crore under Ludhiana Smart City Mission.Ashu accompanied by Mayor Balkar Singh Sandhu, Deputy Commissioner Varinder Kumar Sharma, MC Commissioner Pardeep Kumar Sabharwal, MC Councillors Mamta Ashu, Amrit Varsha Rampal, Harkarandeep Singh Vaid, Dilraj Singh, Hari Singh Brar and several others, said that this project would definitely add beauty and would catch attention of tourists and locals. He added that the Illumination of this structure only makes the surrounding area vibrant and lively but would help to boost local economy by promoting tourism.He said that this lighting highlights the structures in different shades and also connects the colours with many cultural or festivals which can be related with human emotions.

The Minister said that 1500 dynamic colour changing RGBW Linear lights and 224 RGBW Projector lights fitted on the both spans of flyover including 56 foundation pillars across 1.5 km stretch. He added that this would highlight the composition of the projections on the structure by throwing shadows of them.Ashu told that the highlighting is not limited to use of specific colours throughout the year but these dynamic lighting but with DMX controller, there can have special lighting features for special days such as Independence Day, Republic day, Diwali etc.He said that the Bajaj Electricals Limited which has successfully completed Façade Lighting Illumination of Iconic Clock Tower under Smart City Mission, has carried out the project and would ensure proper operation and maintenance for next three years. He assured that all prominent statues of freedom fighters and prominent personalities would also be beautified.Prominent among those present on the occasion included senior Congress leaders Sunil Kapoor, Baljinder Singh Sandhu, besides several others.
