While again warning the residents of the district, civil surgeon Dr. Adarshpal Kaur said that although the number of new Covid-19 positive cases is steadily declining on daily basis, yet precautions are still needed as before. She said that as top health experts have predicted the arrival of the third wave, there is a need to be more vigilant. She said it is very important to wear a mask to stay away from the disease. She again appealed to the people to not step out of homes aimlessly and if there is an urgent need to move out, the face should be covered with masks and necessary distance from each other should be maintained. It is also important to wash hands frequently with soap and water. The civil surgeon asked people to do online transactions to pay for water, electricity, mobile, cylinder refill and other bills, instead of going to the market and offices for the same. She said that shops should not be crowded with customers and social distance should be maintained in all circumstances.

Hands should be washed when entering and leaving the store. He informed that wearing masks at public places has already been made mandatory in the state and those defying the rules and guidelines are being challaned."The lifting of curfew or relaxations in lockdown does not mean that the disease has been completely eradicated," If we adopt a careless attitude and do not use precautions, the disease can strike us again in more dangerous way.” warned the civil surgeon. She added that while traveling in scooters, motorcycles, cars, jeeps, and buses etc. the face should be covered. She said that the health department has been doing its best to curb the spread of the disease but without the cooperation and support of the people, it is very difficult to completely eradicate the disease. People should strictly follow government guidelines. The Civil Surgeon also asked people to visit hospitals in case of any serious problem only. Instead, they should contact the health department's helpline 104 for the expert advice.
