Amid rising number of COVID cases in the district, Industries & Commerce Minister Sunder Sham Arora today reviewed the arrangements to contain the virus besides directing the health authorities to ramp up the bed capacity in COVID wards.Chairing a meeting at Civil Hospital, the Minister, accompanied by the Deputy Commissioner and Civil Surgeon, said that Punjab Government was fully geared up to tackle the health crisis. The Minister instructed the Civil Surgeon to ensure that the requisite number of beds are available in the Covid wards so that in any sort of exigency the patients could be facilitated.The Minister also urged the people not to be complacent at any cost to adhere to Covid appropriate behaviour in larger public interest. He also exhorted the people to come forward for vaccination by dispelling all the misinformation, if any.Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioner Apneet Riyait informed that more than 71,000 eligible beneficiaries had already been inoculated in the district. Civil Surgeon Dr Ranjit Singh and others were also present on the occasion.
