To mark the Armed Forces Flag Day, Deputy Commissioner Ludhiana Varinder Kumar Sharma on Monday, unveiled a booklet ‘Ran Yodhe 2020’, on the facilities available to ex-servicemen at his office here.During the customary launch of Armed Forces Flag Day, District Defence Services Welfare Officer Ludhiana Commander Baljinder Virk pinned a flag brooch on Deputy Commissioner Varinder Kumar Sharma to start the flag fund raising ceremony. Deputy Commissioner urged all district residents to wholeheartedly donate for the fund for the families of martyrs, army personnel disabled during war and for war widows.Deputy Commissioner said that on this day, fellow countrymen remember the sacrifices made by army personnel for our country and donate huge amounts of funds under Armed Forces Flag Day. He said that the funds are used for the welfare of the families of martyrs, veterans and ex-servicemen.On the occasion, Superintendent Rakesh Kumar Sharma among other officials were present.
