Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Minister Bharat Bhushan Ashu on Tuesday, hailed two big decisions of Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh led Punjab Government including to provide one lakh government jobs to the youth of Punjab and to start scholarship scheme for Scheduled Caste students at state government level.The minister along with MLA Ludhiana (North) Rakesh Pandey and Deputy Commissioner Ludhiana Varinder Kumar Sharma has participated in the Virtual Conclusion of 6th Rozgar Fair being organised under Punjab Government’s flagship Ghar Ghar Rozgar and Karobar Mission (PGRKAM) at District Bureau of Employment and Enterprises (DBEE) office here. Congress Leader Rahul Gandhi also joined Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh, who was addressing and congratulating the youth of Punjab via video conference.Bharat Bhushan Ashu, during interaction with the media on the sidelines of the event, said that this was an auspicious day as the Chief Minister has made two big announcements including to provide one lakh government jobs to the youth of Punjab in coming one or two years and another was to start new scholarship scheme for Scheduled Caste (SC) students at Punjab Government level after it was discontinued by the Central Government.He also congratulated 8015 Ludhiana youths, who got jobs during the 6th Job Fair organised by the DBEE in the September month.Meanwhile, as many as 6798 applicants got placements during virtual and physical jobs fairs organised from September 02 to September 23, 2020, while 1217 youths got jobs in the two Mega Jobs Fairs organised including at DBEE on September 25, 2020 and Government ITI on September 29, 2020. Microsoft, Trident, Google Pay, Amazon, Pukhraj Health Care, Eastern Park, Bharti Axa, GS Auto, LIC of India, Flipkart, Arora Steel, Aarti Steel, Vardhman, Ralson India, Seth Industrial, Bharti Airtel, Precision Limited, ICICI, Rockman and PNB Life were among prominent organisations participated to provide jobs in the Rozgar fairs.On the occasion, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC Jagraon) Dr Neeru Katyal Gupta, Congress leader Karanjit Singh Soni Galib, Councillor Harkarandeep Singh Vaid, Deputy Director DBEE Meenakshi Sharma, Employment Officer Harpreet Singh Sidhu, Deputy CEO Navdeep Singh among other prominent persons were present.
