Fit India campaign organized at Udhampur

Department of Youth Services & Sports Udhampur today organized a “fit India freedom Run” under the aegis of fit India movement here at Mini Stadium Udhampur here this morning.Deputy Director Planning, Anil Sharma was the special guest on the occasion.The whole activities were held under the patronage of Dr Saleem- Ul- Rehman, Director General Youth Services & Sports J&K and the supervision of S. Swarn Singh, District Youth Services & Sports Officer Udhampur.The fit India freedom run passed through different locations of Udhampur town viz Gole market, Venus Chowk, Hospital road, Ramnagar Chowk, Main Bazaar etc and returned back to Mini Stadium Udhampur. Around 190, ZPEO's, PEL, PEM's, PET’s, ReK's, including    NYC/NYK , field staff, senior citizens, Youths, Students, Scouts and Guides Police personnel participated in the run.Speaking on the occasion, DYSSO Udhampur said that the campaign is aimed at encouraging the people to include physical activity and sports in their everyday life to stay physically fit and active in order to contribute to nation building. He highlighted the importance of physical and mental fitness in the development of healthy society.He further added that several activities will be performed at school level to improve the fitness level of school going students. He advised all the participants to continue the activities on a regular basis.
