Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, Farooq Khan today said that one of the main aims of Jan Abhiyan and Back to Village campaign is to aware people about their right for public services.He was interacting with the people at Panzinara area of Block Qamarwari of Srinagar district. Advisor Khan visited the block to participate in Youm-e-Block/Block Diwas as part of the Pre-B2V-3 programme- Jan Abhiyan.Advisor Khan had a firsthand experience of the ongoing Jan Abhiyan while interacting with the people there.The Advisor was accompanied by ADDC Srinagar, ACD Rural Development Department, Chairman BDC Qamarwari and Sarpanch Panzinara.The Advisor was briefed about the activities being carried out in the block with respect to different schemes and service delivery by various departments.Farooq Khan enquired about the status of pending works committed during Back to Village Phase-I and II and assured the people that all the demands taken up during these two phases would be met in phased manner.The Advisor Khan appreciated the people for their overwhelming participation in Jan Abhiyan and stated that the governance has been taken to the doorsteps of people so that their issues and problems are sorted out on the spot.He impressed upon the concerned officers to identify the areas and works to be done in the block to benefit maximum people.He observed that the main aim of the programme Jan Abhiyan and Back to Village-3 is to let rural people know about their rights for public service delivery besides other benefits of the unique initiative.On the occasion, the Advisor also interacted with the people and listened to their issues, problems and demands who sought early redressal of their issues.The public of the area sought repair and blacktopping of inner roads;   electric poles for LT and HT lines, drainage and irrigation facilities in their respective areas, besides, sanction of PM Kisan and Kisan cards pending with banks, desilting of irrigation canals, ATM facility etc.The Advisor assured people that all their genuine issues and demands would be looked into and taken up at the appropriate quarters for speedy redress. He also distributed Domicile Certificates and sanction of Social Welfare security cases.
