Commissioner cum Secretary Higher Education Department, Talat Parvez, today chaired a meeting of the Committee constituted for implementation of e-governance project in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.Among others the meeting was attended by Director RUSA, Director Finance, Higher Education Department, Director NIELIT, Head e-governance, Jammu University, Nodal Principal Colleges Jammu division  and representative from NIC, Jammu while Director Colleges, J&K, Director IT, Kashmir, Nodal Principal Colleges Kashmir Division  and representative from GDC Women Sopore participated through video conferencing.The meeting had a detailed review on progress of the Project e-Mission Team (PeMT) and implementation of e-governance project under the scheme Atmanirbhar Bharat. It was informed that initially 7 colleges from Jammu division and 7 colleges from Kashmir division have been taken up for digitalization and smart classes are expected to be started in the coming session.Commissioner Secretary directed the concerned officers for expediting completion work on the project before 31st March 2021. He also asked for coverage of colleges established in the remote areas under the scheme.The meeting also discussed training of the staff for e-governance programme from every college so that the digital system is implemented in full for larger interest of the student fraternity especially in the wake of Corona pandemic.
