Commissioner/Secretary to Government Higher Education Department, Talat Parvez Rohella, today asked the management of Government Colleges to explore their potential to  become centres of excellence of higher education.He was speaking at a meeting of Principals of 16 Non-NAAC Accredited Colleges of Jammu Division, here at G.G.M. Science  College.The agenda of the meeting was to orient the Principals to initiate the process of NAAC Accreditation and to focus on various parameters to achieve quality education. He  encouraged the Principals to identify their potentialities and work rigorously to achieve them.The Secretary further asked Colleges to assess the demands and requirements of  the students and rationalize their resources accordingly. The Principals apprised the Commissioner/Secretary of the problems and challenges being faced by them and the  various initiatives under taken in that direction.“Identify unique signature features of the colleges and work on them to achieve excellence in the field of education  and skill  development keeping the employability index of the outgoing students in mind,” he advised further.Director Finance, Higher   Education Department, Abdul Majid Bhat among  others was present in the meeting.
